GITAM University Admission Test (GAT) PGT Entrance Exam is conducted for admissions to technological programs offered by the university, at postgraduate level.

GAT PGT

GAT PGT stands for GITAM University Admission Testfor post graduate technological programs. As the name suggests, the test is conducted for admission to post graduate technical programs (M. Tech in various disciplines and MCA). The candidates, who desire to seek admission in the programs offered by the university, should be familiar with the basic use of computer as the test is conducted through on-line mode. The aspirants possessing 50% marks in the qualifying examination are eligible. Established in 1980, GITAM University holds the status of a Deemed University, under the UGC act 1956. The university imparts education in the field of Technology, Pharmacy, Science and Management, through its various institutions.

Examination Pattern

GAT PGT entrance test paper consists of three sections-

Part I - comprises of 40 questions from Numerical Data Analysis.

Part II- comprises of 30 questions fromReasoning & Intelligence.

Part III- comprises of 30 questions fromVerbal Ability.

The entrance test is of 2 hours of duration. In total it contains 100 objective questions with multiple choices. Each question is of 3 marks. Negative marking of 1 mark is there for every wrong answer.

Syllabus

The section of numerical data analysis will test the quantitative ability of the candidate. The syllabus includes Arithmetic, Elementary Algebra, Geometry, Inequalities, Graphic (data Interpretation) Sets, Relations and Functions etc. The section of verbal ability will test the skills of English. The syllabus includes the study of sentence completion, analogy, reading comprehension, antonyms, etc.
