St. Joseph’s Training College came into existence in 1957. Located in Kottayam (Kerala), it is a Christian Minority Institution. The college is an integral part of CMI Educational Institutions, which are run by St. Joseph's Monastery, of Carmelities of Mary Immaculate (CMI) Religious Congregation. At the time of its establishment, St. Joseph’s Training College was affiliated to University of Kerala, but since 1983, it is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.
St. Joseph’s Training College is approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The college imparts undergraduate and postgraduate level programmes - Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) and Master of Education (M.Ed). St. Joseph’s Training College Kottayam has multiple modern facilities for the overall development of its students.
