Genesis of under graduate programs into Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication (SIMC) led to the formation of SIMC (UG). Established in 2008 as an expansion of SIMC, Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication (Under Graduate) is accrued to broaden the realms of media studies beyond just journalism. This constituent Institute of Symbiosis International University (SIU) is located at the Viman Nagar campus of SIU in Pune, Maharashtra. The campus provides perfect learning ambience within a nicely structured building, which won an award for its architectural design. SIMC (UG) imparts undergraduate program in Media Studies, popularly known as Bachelor of Media Studies (BMS). Along with extensive study curriculum, the institute offers a comprehensive learning experience with internships, tutorials, assignments, and practical sessions.

Candidates who have passed the Intermediate/10+2 exam in any discipline from a recognized Board/University/Council with at least 50% marks in aggregate, or its equivalent grade, are eligible to apply for the BMS program. Students awaiting their final year result of 10+2 can also apply for the same subject; however, they have to submit their mark sheet latest by beginning of the second semester.

Short-listed candidates are offered admission on the basis of marks obtained in the Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET), conducted by Symbiosis International University, followed by written tests, group discussion, and personal interaction.
