Located in Cuttack (Orissa), Radhanath Institute of Advanced Studies in Education is the oldest institute of Education and offers Bachelor and Master in Education. The institute established in 1869, started functioning as Cuttack Normal School with a purpose of training lower pundits to man primary schools. The school was later upgraded to Cuttack training school in 1875. As per the 1913, education policy, the Cuttack Training College was established in 1923 and offered one year duration Licentiate Training (L.T) course. The L.T course was renamed as D.Ed course after 1926 and finally upgraded to B.Ed course in 1955. The M.Ed course was started in 1957 followed by M.phil course in 1992. Cuttack training college was upgraded to Institute of Advanced Studies in Education in 1988. Initially affiliated to Patna University, the College got affiliated to Utkal University after its establishment. Spread over an area of 5 acres of land, the institute has a sprawling campus with all the mandatory infrastructural facilities.
