Situated in Kottayam (Kerala), Mount Carmel College of Teacher Education for Women is among the oldest teacher training colleges in the state. Started in 1953, it is managed and run by Carmelite Sisters of St.Teresa (CSST). The college is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. Mount Carmel College of Teacher Education for Women is approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The college imparts undergraduate level teacher training programme - Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) along with postgraduate level programme - Master of Education (M. Ed).
