Medicity Institute of Medical Sciences came into being in 2002-03 and it was established by Share Medical Care, which is a NGO. Located in Ghanpur in Ranga Reddy district of Andhra Pradesh, the college is also combined with a multi facilitated hospital, namely, MediCiti Hospital Ghanpur, which has the capacity of 400 beds. The college is approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and recognized by the Ministry of Health & Welfare, Government of India.
Medicity Institute of Medical Sciences is affiliated to Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Andhra Pradesh. The medical college admits students in its undergraduate course in the field of medical sciences that is, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS).
