The college was established in 1969, on the occasion of birth centenary of Father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi and named after him. The candidates who have passed two year P U examinations from Karnatak State P U Board or its equivalent recognized as the 10+2 level in any subject are eligible for the B A and B Com courses. Those who have completed the same in science subjects are eligible for the B Sc courses.
