Government Engineering College Thrissur/Trichur is an institute of repute, located in the state of Kerala. One of the most prestigious technical institutions in the state, Govt Engineering College Thrissur’s foundation stone was laid down by Pt Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. The college is affiliated to the University of Calicut.
Courses offered by Government Engineering College Thrissur are accredited by National Board of Accredition (NBA). Currently, it offers part time as well as full time courses in different branches of engineering, at the undergraduate level. Undergraduate:
The applicants must have passed the Pre-degree Examination of the University in Kerala State or the equivalent examinations with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects with a minimum of 50% marks. Candidates having a diploma in engineering awarded by the Board of Technical Examinations of Kerala State or Examination considered equivalent are also eligible.
For part time B Tech, the candidate should have a pass in the Diploma Examination in Engineering. In addition, he/she should have minimum two years of experience.
Post Graduate:
For M Tech, the candidate sshould have a pass in B Tech or equivalent examination.
For MCA the candidate smust be BCA, B.Sc in Computer science/ IT/ Electronics. B Tech students with minimum 50% marks and B Com students (with Statistics) also qualify for the MCA.
Undergraduate:
Enrolment rests on the Engineering Entrance Examination conducted by the Government of Kerala. Provision of lateral entry for Engineering Diploma holders is also there.

Admissions to M Tech are done on the basis of GATE
For MCA, admissions are done on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the entrance test.
