Government Degree College, situated at Tekkali, in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh, was the first in Tekkali Revenue Division of government. The college was established in the year 1971 to provide quality higher education to the rural and Oriya linguistic minority students of Tekkali and its nearby areas. The college houses a sprawling campus area of 20 acres with well maintained educational infrastructures and qualified human resources. Affiliated to Andhra University, Government Degree College Tekkali imparts undergraduate courses in Arts, Science and Commerce faculties. Besides, a vocational course in Chartered Accountancy is also offered under Commerce department.

The candidates who have completed their P U examinations of Andhra State P U Board or its equivalent recognized as 10 +2 level in any subject are eligible for the B A / B Com courses. Those who have completed the same in science subjects are eligible for the B Sc courses offered here.
