Government Degree College for Men, situated in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh, was the first and the foremost college in this district. The college was established in the year 1951 to impart quality higher education in Srikakulum district and its surrounding areas. Later in 1954, the college was upgraded to Government Degree College. The college is spread over a sprawling campus area with well maintained infrastructure and qualified human resources. Affiliated to Andhra University, Government Degree College for Men imparts undergraduate courses in Arts, Science and Commerce faculties. Besides, M A (Telugu), M Sc (Chemistry) and M Com courses are also offered here.

Undergraduate:
The candidates who have completed their P U examinations of Andhra State P U Board or its equivalent recognized as 10 +2 level in any subject are eligible for the B A / B Com courses. Those who have completed the same in science subjects are eligible for the B Sc courses offered here.
Post Graduate:
The graduates in Telugu, Chemistry and Commerce subjects can apply for the post graduate courses such as M A (Telugu), M Sc (Chemistry) and M Com.
