Anantha Lakshmi Government Ayurvedic Medical College is situated at Warangal in Andhra Pradesh. Established in 1956, the college is affiliated to NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada. The college offers a degree course in the field of Ayurveda - Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery (BAMS), which is a five-year full time programme including mandatory internship of six months. Candidates who have secured at least 40% marks in the science subjects in the qualifying examination are considered eligible for pursuing Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery. In the case of candidate belonging to Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes, the minimum percentage of marks required is the pass percentage. Candidates must have passed the qualifying examination in one attempt. Knowledge of Sanskrit is an added advantage for the candidates.

There is a selection committee constituted by the Government, for screening the candidates for admission in BAMS Degree course. Those passing the qualifying examination with Sanskrit will receive additional weightage of 2% of the total number of marks secured by them in the optional subjects in the grand total considered for purpose of selection through the state level Entrance Test(EAMCET).
