Alagappa Chettiar College of Engineering and Technology is one of the oldest engineering colleges in India. Located in Karaikudi (Tamil Nadu), it was established in 1952 as a self-financed private college under Alagappa Chettiar Educational Trust. In 1962, its management was handed over to the Government of Tamil Nadu. Alagappa Chettiar College of Engineering and Technology is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
AC College of Engineering and Technology Karaikudi is affiliated to Anna University, Tiruchirappalli. The college conducts engineering programmes at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. Apart from that, it also imparts a postgraduate level course in the field of computer applications (MCA).
