Career Prospects
Plentiful job opportunities are available in the field of hospital management and administration. One can start his/her professional career as an assistant hospital administrator or assistant manager in any non-medical department of an organization. After pursuing a course, one can seek employment in Government organizations and large PSUs, such as hospitals, clinics, international and national healthcare organizations, health insurance companies, healthcare centers, nursing homes, mental health organizations, public health departments, rehabilitation centers, pharmaceuticals and hospital supply firms, medical software companies, and hospital consulting firms. With a Master’s degree and some years of experience in hand, one can also find teaching jobs in colleges and universities. With adequate and valuable experience, one could even set up his/her own nursing home or hospital.

Remuneration
Depending upon the type of organization hospital managers and administrators are working for, remuneration varies largely. In the beginning, fresh graduates can receive pay pack of Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 12,000 per month. As experience increases, earnings shoot up, to as high as Rs. 40, 000 per month, or even higher. Large MNCs and corporate organizations recruit experienced and well qualified hospital administration/management personnel at even higher salary packets. Better remuneration offers can be explored in foreign lands, with handsome salaries.
