UPSC Geologists' Exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission to recruit candidates under two categories, which are as follows: Geologist Group A posts in Geological Survey of India and Jr. Hydro geologists (Scientist B), Group A and Assistant Hydro geologists Group B posts under Central Ground Water Board. The test forms the basic criteria to shortlist potential candidates for the aforementioned posts. Final selection of the candidates is done on the basis of their performance in the written exam, followed by interview or personality test. The candidates, who are finally selected, are appointed on probation period for two years.
