Special Class Railway Apprentice is a competitive entrance exam, which is conducted by Union Public Services Commission (UPSC). The exam is conducted for selecting the candidates for Special Class Railways Apprentices. Selected candidates get appointed in Indian Railway’s Mechanical Department as trainee or probationary class-I railway officials. The job entrance exam is conducted at various test centers, throughout the country. Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination or if the result is awaited, are considered eligible to apply for this job entrance test.
SCRA exam takes place every year under the guidance of UPSC and is usually scheduled in the month of July. Candidates have to qualify two stages of the exam, which includes a written test and personality test. Only those candidates who qualify in the exam get called for the personality test, which is aimed at analyzing the candidate’s overall personality and knowledge about the relevant field.
SCRA exam 2011 will be conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and is scheduled to be held on 31st July, 2011. The test is going to take place at various test centers including Agartala, Gangtok, Panaji (Goa), Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Patna, Aizwal, Imphal, Port Blair, Allahabad, Itanagar, Raipur, Bangalore, Jaipur, Ranchi, Bareilly, Jammu, Sambalpur, Bhopal, Jorhat, Shillong, Chandigarh, Kochi, Shimla, Chennai, Kohima, Srinagar, Cuttack, Kolkata, Thiruvananthapuram, Dehradun, Lucknow, Tirupati, Delhi, Madurai, Udaipur, Dharwar, Mumbai, Vishakhapatnam, Dispur and Nagpur.
