Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) Nagpur, Maharashtra, was established in 1960 by the joint collaboration of Government of India and Government of Maharashtra. Formerly known as Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering (VRCE), the institute was accorded the status of Deemed University in 2002 and also renamed as Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) Nagpur. VNIT Nagpur offers engineering courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate level. All these programmes are offered by the institute as per the strict norms of the Government of Maharashtra. VNIT Nagpur is spread across 215.26 acres of land, which contains state-of-the-art infrastructure for the overall development of its students within the campus.

Undergraduate:
Minimum educational qualification required is a pass in the Higher Secondary or 10+2 examination with at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (45% of marks for SC Students and 40% of marks for ST students).
Post Graduate:
M Tech
Aspiring candidates must hold a Bachelors degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent in an appropriate area, with at least 60% marks or equivalent for General category students (55 % marks for SC/ST students), from any recognized University.
Doctorate:
PhD
For pursuing PhD in Engineering a first Class or more than 60% is required in BE / B Tech (or equivalent examination) and M Tech / M Tech (by research) in basic branch (or allied branch of engineering). For PhD Sciences one needs a first class at BSc and MSc in relevant discipline.
Undergraduate:
Admission is done on the basis of candidates' AIEEE scores, conducted by CBSE.
Entrance Test: AIEEE Exam
Post Graduate:
The admission of the candidates is done on the basis of their ranks in the GATE entrance test.
Entrance Test: GATE Exam
Doctorate:
Admissions of the candidates are done on the basis of their performances in written test and personal interview.
