University Institute of Engineering and Technology, Kanpur, came into existence in 1996. It is an autonomous institute of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur (Kanpur University) and located within the University Campus. University Institute of Engineering and Technology is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The institute imparts courses in engineering at the undergraduate level, with postgraduate courses in science and computer applications.
