Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology (RIT) is located at Kottayam, Kerala. Also known as RIT Kottayam, it was set up in 1991. It is one of the leading technical institutes in the state of Kerala. Affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University, the institute conducts several B Tech and M Tech courses. RIT Kottayam, which has vast campus and infrastructure, is owned and managed by the state government of Kerala. Courses conducted by the college have the approval of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology is also accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA).

Eligibility:
Undergraduate:
Applicants must be a pass the Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or examinations with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as subjects with minimum marks. Candidates belonging to OBC and SC/ST section of societies are given concession in the minimum marks criterion.
Post Graduate:
For M Tech, the candidates should be B Tech with the relevant discipline in the syllabus.
For MCA, candidates need Graduation with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects.

Enrolment in the institute rests on the basis of merit/rank obtained in the Engineering Entrance Examination conducted by the commissioner for Entrance Examination, Government of Kerala. Management quota seats are not available in the institution.

For M Tech, admissions are done on the basis of GATE.
For MCA, admission is based on state level entry test.
