National Institute of Technology (NIT) Kurukshetra was established in 1963 as a joint and co-operative enterprise of Government of India and the State Government of Haryana. It was established as Regional Engineering College. Recognised as an institution of national importance, the institute was accorded the status of Deemed University and renamed as National Institute of Technology (NIT) Kurukshetra in the year 2002. The institute imparts undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate level programmes in the field of engineering, along with a Master degree programme in management field. Eligibility:
Undergraduate:
Minimum educational qualification required for admission into BE/BTech is a pass in the Higher Secondary or 10+2 examination with at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (45% of marks for SC Students and 40% of marks for ST students).
Post Graduate:
M.Tech
For pursuing ME/MTech a student should possess a Bachelors degree in BE/B.Tech or equivalent in an appropriate area, with at least 60% marks (55 % marks for SC/ST students).
MBA
Graduation of 10+2+3 pattern is required in any discipline from a recognized University.
Admission Procedure:
Undergraduate:
Admissions are conducted on the basis of All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on behalf of the Government of India.

Post Graduate:
Admission to MTech degree courses are done on the basis of candidate's score in the GATE examination. It GATE qualified candidates are not available then the remaining vacant seats are offered to Non-GATE candidates with a minimum of 60 percent marks (55 percent for SC candidates) in their qualifying examination.
MBA
Candidates are admitted in the MBA through the process of written Test followed by GD / Interview.
