Malout Institute of Management & Information Technology is commonly referred to as MIMIT. Located in Malout (Punjab), the college was established by the Government of Punjab. The college is affiliated to Punjab Technical University (PTU) Jalandhar and the courses offered by it have been approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. Malout Institute of Management & Information Technology was incepted under the guidance of Board of Governors, under Govt. of Punjab. The eligible candidates should have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination in Science Stream with physics and mathematics as compulsory and any one out of Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Comp. Science & Engineering Technology as optional subjects and have passed in English.
For Lateral Entry the eligible candidates should have passed diploma in Engineering/Technology with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks from relevant branch from Punjab State Board of technical Education and Industrial Training, Chandigarh, or Sant Longowal Central Institute of Engineering & Technology, (SLIET). Longowal (or equivalent grade point in case of SLIET Diploma)
Post Graduate:
For MBA the eligible candidates should have passed graduation in any discipline

Admissions are done on the basis of Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by Punjab Technical University and All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE).
For Lateral entry admissions are dome on the merit basis of qualifying examination and as per the norms of the university.
