College of Engineering in Sindhudurg is a renowned educational institution in Maharashtra. It boasts of being the first and the only engineering college in Sindhudurg district of the state. The college was incepted in 1999, under the aegis of Sindhudurg Shikshan Prasark Mandal (SSPM), Kankavali. Courses conducted by the institute have been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE, New Delhi, and it is affiliated to Mumbai University.
Sindhudurg Shikshan Prasark Mandal came into existence in 1987, under the guidance of Honorable Shri. Narayanrao Rane - former Chief Minister of Maharashtra. In addition to College of Engineering Sindhudurg, SSPM runs Dairy Development College in Kankavali and Vridhashra at Bhiravande, in the vicinity of Kankavali. Over the years, the Mandal has gained popularity as a premier organization and College of Engineering Sindhudurg is its flagship institution.

Applicants should have passed the HSC (10+2) examination of any recognized board or its equivalent, with subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and secured minimum 50% marks. In case of candidates of Backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra, minimum 45% marks are needed.
Diploma holders, with minimum of 50% marks and medium of instruction as English, are also eligible.
