Candidates who have successfully passed the intermediate with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as subjects or any other examination considered equivalent are eligible for applying.

Admission is done in accordance with the rank secured by the candidate in the Common Entrance Test conducted every year by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala. Fifty percent of seats are designated as Free-ship seats while the remaining are designated as Full-fee seats. Admission is conducted for both type of seats by CEE through an online counseling based on the rank secured by the candidate in the CET. Candidates with a relevant Diploma degree can get lateral entry to the second year engineering. Entrance exams are also conducted for such candidates.
