Pulmonary Medicine is a branch of medical science, which deals with the causes, prevention and treatment of problems related to lungs. Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Pulmonary Medicine is a fulltime three-year post graduate degree course. During the course, the student learns about diagnostics and treatments, such as bronchodilator, inhalers etc. The candidates with an MBBS degree from a recognized institute, who have registered permanently with Medical Council of India or any other State Medical Councils, are eligible for this MD course.
There are various institutes which offer this course. Admission to those institutes is on the basis of the scores in medical exams like Post-Graduate Medical Entrance Test (PGMET). There are many institutes which conduct independent entrance exams and admit candidates on the basis of the scores in that test.
