Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation is a branch of medical science, which involves the study of physical impairments or disabilities. It emphasizes on optimizing the functionality and performance of the affected organ of the patient. Doctor of Medicine (MD) Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation is a three year post graduate degree programme for MBBS degree holders or equivalent from a recognized institute. To enroll into this programme, major institutes conduct independent entrance exams and hence have different parameters for admission. During this course, one learns various sub specialty techniques, namely sport medicine, electrodiagnostics, trauma procedure etc. After the successful completion of MD (Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation) course, one can join old age home as an in-house physician or can work with NGOs working for similar cause.
