Tilkamanjhi Bhagalpur University

Located Bhagalpur, Tilkamanjhi Bhagalpur University is a teaching-cum-affiliating University. Known popularly as TNB College Bhagalpur, Tilkamanjhi Bhagalpur University  was established in 1960. It is fully accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with B+ grade, and has tied with major International Universities (IU). It has been recognized by University Grant Commission (UGC), and it is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

 

BA (Honors) is conducted by the university for Hindi, History, Political Science, Economics, Bangla, Maithili, Sanskrit, Persian, Philosophy, Psychology, Mathematics, Geography and Sociology. BSc (Honors) is conducted in Botany, Zoology, Physics, Math and Chemistry. 

Vocational courses at Degree Honors level are Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA), Biotechnology and Functional Hindi. Admissions to BCA and Biotechnology are conducted on the basis of Entrance Test while in Functional Hindi, the students are inducted on the basis of performance in the qualifying examination. Admissions to all courses in BA (Hons) and BSc (Hons) are done on the basis of qualifying examination.

Tilkamanjhi Bhagalpur University offers accommodation facilities for a large number of male students in its hostels namely Ashwini East Block Hotel, West Block Hostel, Krishna Hostel, Welfare Hostel and U.G.C. Hostel. A girls hostels is being built with assistance from the University Grants Commission. The university also has facilities like Canteen, Auditorium and Stadium. 

Placement Cell assists the students in finding jobs after they have completed their course. The university library runs in a two storeyed building having separate well furnished reading rooms for teachers, boys and girls. Thousands of text books, reference books, and journals are available in the library.

 

Tilkamanjhi Bhagalpur University, formally known as Bhagalpur University, was established under Bihar State Universities Act, 1960 and came into existence from the 12th July, 1960. It has jurisdiction over the four districts of Bhagalpur Division.
