Sri Sathya Sai University (SSSU), formerly known as Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, was founded by Sathya Sai Baba, a renowned and spiritual figure of India. The University has three campuses in India, out of which two are exclusively for men, and one for women. SSSU has been recognized as an autonomous body, a Deemed University by the Government of India and the University Grants Commission (UGC). National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has granted A++ Grade to the university.
Educational Streams
Sri Sathya Sai University offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Professional Courses with Doctoral programmes in many departments. Several courses of five years duration are also conducted by the university. The university provides free education and follows an open admission policy enabling students from all over the country to seek admission to various courses.
Selection to the courses is based on performance in an entrance test specific to the course, which is followed by an interview. For MBA courses, a Group Discussion (GD) is also held. Students interested in pursuing M Tech (Computer Science) programme from the University are required to attend a practical and oral test, in addition to the written test.
All the tests and interviews are held at the Prasanthi Nilayam Campus of the University. Admission process usually starts from the last week of April and continues to the second week of May. Academic performance, work experience, and non-academic accomplishments are also considered for granting admissions.

Facilities
All students getting admission in the university have to mandatorily stay at hostel. The hostel life is an integral part of the University’s academic programme. The students are encouraged to participate in sports and other activities. Sathya Sai university also offers classes in the philosophy of Yogasanas. Regular physical fitness exercises help students in their overall development.
History
Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning was founded by Sathya Sai Baba on November 22, 1981. With effect from 2nd February, 2007, the name of the institute was changed to Sri Sathya Sai University.
