Sri Krishnadevaraya University

Sri Krishnadevaraya University (SKU) is a public university in Anantapur in the state of Andhra Pradesh catering to the higher educational needs of the revenue districts of Anantapur and Kurnool. Sri Krishnadevaraya University has earned its name as a centre of academic excellence and it is also accorded with a four star status by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Sri Krishnadevaraya University offers undergraduate, postgraduate, UG diploma, PG diploma, courses and research programmes. Apart from the traditional academic programs, career-oriented professional and technical programs are also imparted in the university.  For getting admission in PG Diploma programs, students need to go through a common entrance test called SKUCET conducted by Andhra University. For enrolment in MBA and MCA, ICET entrance test has to be cleared. For securing admission in Bachelors courses, EAMCET is the course to be cleared. For getting into the Bachelors, one has to go through EAMCET. Students desiring admission in PG classes have to get through GATE.

 

Sri Krishnadevaraya University provides all needed facilities for undertaking study and research through well established library and laboratories. Besides academic advancement the students are also provided with facilities like outdoor stadium, playgrounds, gymnasium, E-Class Room, INFLIBNET, Internet, and computer networks for their overall personality development. An Auditorium, a canteen, a Guest House, Health centre and adequately built up space to accommodate departments of studies, laboratories, hostels, and housing for the staff, teaching and non-teaching are included in the infrastructural facility of the University.

 

In the year 1968, Sri Krishnadevaraya University was started as the Post Graduate centre of Sri Venkateswara University. In the year 1976 it gained autonomy so that the desires of the people of the region could be fulfilled. Later in the Year 1981 the Autonomous Post Graduate centre was granted the status of the University. Finally in the year 1987 it was conferred the status of an affiliating University.
