Sir Padampat Singhania University (SPSU), Udaipur, is spread across a sprawling campus , located at a distance of 30 Km from Udaipur city. SPSU has been imparting quality education through a number of educational programmes since its inception. The University offers a fully residential and secured campus in an ecologically friendly and conducive environment for academic learning and comfortable living.
Educational Streams
The University conducts Five Year Integrated International Bachelor-Masters Programme in Biotechnology, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, and Information Technology in collaboration with the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok. Students are exposed to advanced courses leading to Master’s degree during bachelor study itself. Students spend first four years at SPSU and the fifth year at AIT. Two year full time MBA degree progrmame in four areas of specializations namely Marketing, Finance, Human Resources and Information Technology. Education programmes of the University help students learn fundamental principals with experimental, computational and analytical methods. They get to develop their skills in the creative processes of engineering.
Facilities
The University provides all the basic facilities like modern Class rooms and Laboratories, state of the art equipments, Internet connectivity on an optical fiber backbone, Internet facilities in the academic buildings and hostels, modern library (open for 12 hours), separate hostels for boys and girls, RO water system in the campus, etc. Other facilities provided are banking, postal and medical facilities, with an arrangement with a renowned hospital in Udaipur for emergency medical treatment. Career development center takes care of the placement of graduating students. Bank loan facility is also available for the students of Bachelor-Masters programme.
History
In 2008 the passing of the Sir Padampat Singhania University, Udaipur Act (Act No. 4 of 2008) by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Rajasthan resulted in the formation of Sir Padampat Singhania University. The University got the approval of UGC on 13 April 2009 and is empowered to award degree as specified by the UGC under section 22 of the UGC Act, 1956.
