Educational Streams
NALSAR conducts several courses in the field of legal education including BA, LLB (Hons), LLM, MPhil, and PhD. One year PG Diplomas are offered in several branches of law. Admission to BA LLB (Hons) and LLM Degree Programs is done strictly on merit basis performance in an All India Entrance Test (CLAT). For enrolment into PhD or DLit programs, one must have a Masters degree in law.
The Common Entrance Test for LLB and LLM has questions on General Knowledge, General English, Legal Aptitude, Reasoning and Essay. Soma seats are allotted for foreign nationals on direct admission basis according to the prescribed academic qualification and an interview. NALSAR Hyderabad has exchange agreements with several renowned universities around the world. The university also conducts Post Graduate Diploma In Aviation Law And Air Transport Management (PGDALATM).

Facilities
NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad has established separate residential halls for boys and girls, with a common dinning hall. Facilities like common room with indoor games, TV and telephones (only for incoming calls) are available in the hostels. There is a common mess that serves non-vegetarian food three days a week. Two private telephone booths have been provided for the students. Other amenities offered include Bank Extension Counter, Health Centre, Sports & Games Stadium, Internet Centre and Conferences/Seminars facilities.
History
Established in 1998, NALSAR University of Law was started under the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research University Act (Andhra Pradesh Act 34 of 1998) of the Andhra Pradesh State Legislature.
