Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Vedic Vishwavidyalaya

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Vedic Vishwavidyalaya (MMYVV) at Katni is an affiliating university having jurisdiction over entire Madhya Pradesh. The university has its head office at Karoundi Village of Katni District in the state while its distance education office is located at Vijaya Nagar of Jabalpur. It is recognized by the UGC and is also a member of Association of Indian Universities. MMYVV has been established as a statutory University just like any other UGC recognised University.

The University offers Post Graduate (Acharya), Graduate (Shastri) and Diploma (Praman Patra) Programmes in Maharishi Ved Vigyan, Jyotish, Yog, Sthaptya Ved-Vastu Vidya and Vedic Swasthya Vidhan. Other than these programs, one-year diploma course is also conducted. BBA and BCA programmes approved by Directorate of Technical Education, MP are being conducted since 1998. Full time BEd course approved by National Council of Teachers Education, NCTE, is conducted from Jabalpur Campus. The MMYVV also offers other vocational programmes through distance mode. For regular courses, admissions are made by state government on the basis of merit in entrance test, and admissions to distance academic courses are held on the basis of minimum qualification. The university imparts training and education through its campus and study centers in distance mode. The students are imparted education with Use of audio-video programmes, Effective face to face interaction with faculty, Project work, Work related field projects, and Interaction with international faculty and experts through telecast and video lectures.

The study centers of the university have infrastructure and facilities as laid down by Distance Education Council (DEC). The building, computer, communication and student support arrangement are as per the norms. Study Centers arrange contact programs and also provide study material. Students are given placement assistance in the sister organizations.

The Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Vedic Vishwavidyalaya, MMYVV, was established by the Act No. 37 of 1995 of Madhya Pradesh Government. It is a statutory University like any other UGC recognized University. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi was the first chancellor of the university.
