Jaipur National University

Jaipur National University, located on the foothills of the Aravalis, was established with the aim to meet the demands of knowledge and learning of life-skills with a difference. The University was formed by the conjugation of the Seedling Group of Institutions, running under the Mahima Shiksha Samiti. It is the first of its kind educational institute in Rajasthan that has introduced various integrated and interdisciplinary programmes of study and research in the country. The University has been rated among the top 20 BT Schools of India by the well-known magazine Biospectrum.

 

Jaipur National University provides higher education in job-oriented professional as well as traditional academic courses. Various departments in the University conduct teaching and research activities in an array of disciplines.  Teaching and evaluation in all the Schools is performed through semester system and ongoing assessment. Besides the term-end exams it also conducts mid-semester tests, tutorial assignments, term-papers, presentations, and development of soft-skills, etc. 

Salient features of the University include advisory system, functional research, integrated, dual and joint degree programmes. It admits students on the basis of their performance in the Entrance Test, Merit and Interview. The University has established national and international collaborations by signing MOUs with reputed Universities to strengthen its teaching and research programmes. Department of Distance Education conducts correspondence courses for the students.

 

Jaipur National University has established well planned campus having proper infrastructure, including classrooms, seminar halls, laboratories, library, hostels, playgrounds, round the clock internet facility, etc. Additional facilities like cafeteria, a stationary shop with photocopy and printing facilities, and ATM are also available at the University campus. 

Sports facilities include Table Tennis, Chess, Carom, Gymnasium,basket ball, volley ball, Cricket, Hockey, Football and Tennis. The University library houses many reference/text-books, and journals of national and international standards. There is an independent placement cell that facilitates campus placements and jobs for the students.

 

On 22nd October, 2007, the Government of Rajasthan announced the establishment of Jaipur National University. It was a historical day for the Mahima Shiksha Samiti, the society responsible for the management of the Seedling Institutions of Higher Education, which conjugated to form the University. It has been honoured with approval and recognition from all the national bodies, including the University Grants Commission (UGC), under the University Act of 1956.
