Gujarat Ayurved University

Establishment in 1967, the Gujarat Ayurved University is the first statutory university of its kind both at national and international level, dedicated to impart education of Ayurveda. It has come into being by an Act of Gujarat State Assembly. The Ayurveda University has made exceptional contribution in globalization of Ayurveda. Administratively, the university is linked both to state and central governments.

 

The university offers several courses of different modules as Introductory, B Pharm, D Pharm, M Pharm, MD and PhD in Ayurveda. In addition, courses like PG Diploma in Yoga and Naturopathy, Certificate Course in Yoga and Naturopathy, M Sc in Medicinal Plants, B Sc in Yoga and PhD in Medicinal Plants are also conducted. Admissions to the merit-based, either on qualifying exam or entrance test and personal interview.

 

The university is equipped with all basic facilities for the students. A well-maintained canteen takes care of the faculties and the students. Recognizing the role of sports in the development of a person, regular games are encouraged. Co-curricular activities are held in the university throughout the year, promoting all-round development of the students.

Gujarat Ayurved University was established in 1967 by an Act passed by Gujarat State Legislative Assembly in 1965. Since its inception, it is committed to Ayurvedic studies and Research. This University is administratively linked to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare both at State and Centre, indicating its special status. Six foreign institutions are engaged in the teaching and training of Ayurveda and have signed the Memorandum of Understanding, MOU, with the Gujarat Ayurved University for collaboration in the field of education and research in Ayurveda.
