Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, previously known as Kanpur University, is among the largest universities in India. A hallmark of higher education, Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University is an educational center where students of different backgrounds study together in a friendly environment. CSJM University imparts education through curriculum design, the development of new courses and the application of innovative teaching methodologies.

 

The university conducts undergraduate and post-graduate programmes in disciplines of Art, Science, Commerce, Law, Engineering and Medicine that are offered in affiliated colleges and institutions. The residential wing of the campus includes faculties of Life Sciences, Business Management, Education and English. It also has a computer centre, a department of Adult and Continuing Education, Communication and a College Development Council. For catering to the requirements of young engineering aspirants, the university has recently started an Institute of Engineering and Technology in the campus offering courses in several branches of engineering. The curriculum is regularly updated, new courses developed and a forward looking and innovative teaching methodology is applied. Admissions, except Arts and Commerce group, are held through Entrance test.

 

CSJM University provides hostels to male and female students separately. The students are allowed to use their own computer in the rooms. Bank, Cafetaria, Central Library, Computer Centre, Guest House, Helipad, International Centre, Lecture Hall Complex, Multipurpose Hall, Shopping Complex, Stadium and etc are other facilities.

Kanpur University has been on the pedestal of higher education for more than three decades. Established in 1966, the university has been nurturing the learners. As is of now it has a long listing of affiliated colleges in several districts of Uttar Pradesh. It has contributed substantially to the growth and economic development of the country.
