Bharath University, Chennai is committed to provide education in several fields like Engineering, Dental, Medical, Physiotherapy and Nursing by offering various courses Under Graduate Programmes, Post Graduate Programmes, Research Programmes and Certificate Programmes. The specificly designed special programmes offered by the Institute has placed it on par with some of its counterparts.
Facilities
BIST has established separate hostels for men and women with enough capacity for accommodation. General facilities like single, double and triple bed rooms, vegetarian or non-vegetarian food, cable television and telephone are available. BIST proper infrastructure for the purpose of learning on its campuses. All the Institutions of the group are facilitated with spacious buildings so that the reception, office and classrooms, staff-rooms, drawing halls, laboratories, workshops, library, computer centers, auditoriums, conference halls, examination halls, recreation centers for staff and students, sports rooms, dispensaries, canteens, placement cells, rooms for NCC, NSS, rest rooms and fine arts clubs could be accommodated easily.
History
Bharath University also popular as BIST was established in the year 1984, and acquired deemed to be University status in the year 2003 by University Grants Commission (UGC).
