The Vasavi College of Engineering, Hyderabad was founded in the year 1981 by the Vasavi Academy of Education. The Vasavi Academy of Education was founded in-turn by Sri Pendekanti Venkatasubbaiah.
The Vasavi College of Engineering is considered as a premier institute for engineering. It is affiliated to the Osmania University. It is a self-financed institution, located in Ibrahimbagh, Hyderabad. The college has been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation.
The College is located in quite a picturesque place and is spread over 13.6 acres of land with some lush green lawns and lovely landscapes. It has over 170 faculty members and 2300 students apart from 100 administrative staff. Since the time the University was formed, it has been growing by leaps and bounds and has, over the years, established itself as a premier educational institution.

Candidates must have cleared the Intermediate examination of the Board of Intermediate Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects, or any other 10+2 level examinations recognized by the Board of Intermediate as equivalent thereto.
Post Graduate:
Applicants should have done B.E./B.Tech. from Osmania University in the ECE or its equivalent for admission into ME-Embedded Systems and VLSI Design discipline, BE/B.Tech of Osmania University in Mechanical Engineering/Production Engineering or its equivalent for admission into ME-Advanced Design and Manufacturing or AMIE/AMIETE or similar qualifications recognized by O.U. as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. and Valid GATE Score obtained in the GATE Examination or rank secured in PGECET.
The Candidates must have done the qualifying examination (10+2+3) or equivalent with Mathematics as one of the subjects in 10+2 level.
Undergraduate:
The admission is based on the State-Level Entrance Test called "Engineering, Agricultural Sciences and Medical Common Entrance Test" (EAMCET), held by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. 75% of the seats under are filled by the Convener of EAMCET based on the rank secured in EAMCET. 25% of the seats are filled by the Management based on the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh. The candidates at 2nd year of BE (lateral entry), from the stream of Diploma Holders and B.Sc. Graduates with Mathematics as one of the subjects based on the rank secured in Engineering Common Entrance Test (ECET) to an extent of 10% of the sanctioned intake, on supernumerary basis.

Post Graduate:
The admission is based on GATE Examination or a State-Level Entrance Test that is "Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test" (PGECET), conducted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. 70% of the seats are filled by the Convener of PGECET based on the rank secured in GATE/ PGECET. 30% are for admission, first to Sponsored Candidates and vacant seats, if any, to the other eligible candidates based on merit. For Sponsored Candidates, B.E. / B.Tech. degree from a recognized University with 60% aggregate marks in all four years; or AMIE and other Associate membership with a valid GATE score/PGECET rank.
The admission is done through a State-Level Entrance Test or "Integrated Common Entrance Test" (ICET), conducted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. 75% of the seats are filled by the Convener of ICET based on the rank secured in ICET. 25% of the seats are filled by the Management as per the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh.
