Tamil Nadu Government Dental College & Hospital, located in Chennai (Tamil Nadu), started its first academic session in 1992. The college is affiliated to The Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai and is recognized by Dental council of India (DCI). Five years of undergraduate degree level Bachelor’s of Dental Science (BDS) course along with two years of post graduate Masters of Dental Surgery (MDS) course and diploma level dental mechanics and dental hygienist courses are offered by the dental institution. Tamil Nadu Government Dental College aims to train aspirants as well-qualified and skilled dentists by providing quality education to them. Candidates with pass in 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized Board in science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as mainstream subjects are eligible.
