Located in the University Enclave, Delhi, St. Stephen’s College is the oldest college of Delhi. Established on 1st February 1881, the college, in the very beginning was affiliated to Calcutta University and then to Punjab University. With the establishment of Delhi University in 1892, the college started functioning under the affiliation of Delhi University. St. Stephen’s College is one of the premiere colleges offering undergraduate and postgraduate courses in arts and science streams. The college offers all the modern facilities for the smooth conduct of the courses.
St. Stephen’s College made a humble beginning from a small house, with a handful of students and teachers. The college was shifted to the premises of Delhi College of Engineering, in which it functioned from 1891 to 1941. In 1941, St. Stephen’s College was shifted to present day permanent premises in the University Enclave. The original building was designed by famous architect Walter George. St. Stephen’s College, established by a Christian mission from Westcott House, Cambridge inculcates the moral values and teachings drawing inspiration from the life of Jesus Christ.

Candidates should graduate in any stream from a recognized University. For M.A in (Eng) candidates have to appear for DU CATE entrance exam

Admissions to the above mentioned courses are based on the merit secured in the qualifying exam and the availability of seats. Admissions to the above mentioned courses are done strictly as per the University guidelines and norms.
Post Graduate:
(M.Sc) in Physics/chemistry/Mathematics
50% of the seats in M.Sc are filled on the basis of marks secured in B.Sc (Hons) exam (no entrance test) whereas the candidates having B.Sc (p) degree are required to appear in the entrance exam.
M.A/M.Sc (operational research)
Admission to this course is done on the basis of merit secured in entrance exam conducted by the University.
