Located in the capital city of Himachal Pradesh - Shimla, Sarvopalli Radha Krishnan Institute for Teachers Education came into being in 2006. The college is affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University and is recognized from National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Named after India’s second President - Dr Sarvopalli Radha Krishnan, the Institute for Teacher Education intends to produce well-qualified and skilled teachers. With the intention to accomplish its aim, it has equipped itself with all the mandatory facilities and infrastructure. In addition, it boasts of providing ambience that facilitates quality learning. The college of education conducts one year of full-time, undergraduate course of Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) along with one-year postgraduate Masters of Education (M. Ed) course.
