Sardar Patel Medical College, previously known as Bikaner Medical College, is located in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The medical college was founded by former Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, in 1959. The college has a distinction of being the second medical college of the state. Over the decades, the college has earned the reputation of being the centre for excellence in the field. SP Medical College is affiliated to Rajasthan University of Health and Sciences, Jaipur. The medical courses offered by it are recognized by Medical Council of India (MCI).
In 50 years of its existence, Sardar Patel Medical College Bikaner has given some of the best doctors to the nation. The medical college is associated with numerous hospitals, to provide updated knowledge in the field. The college offers education in the field of medical science, at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The college opened the first Coronary Care Unit of the state.

Undergraduate:
The applicant should have passed intermediate examination or equivalent examination, from any recognized board, with physics, chemistry, biology and English as main subject. Or, the candidate should have passed 1st year Sc. Examination conducted by university of Rajasthan.
Post Graduate:
The aspirant should have passed MBBS examination from a recognized college or university. In addition, one year of internship should also be completed.

The selection is based on the merit list prepared on the score of the candidate in PMT (Pre-Medical Test) conducted by university.
Post Graduate:
The selection of the candidate is based on his/her performance in the Competitive Entrance Examination.
