Regional College of Nursing, which is situated in the capital of Assam, Guwahati, is directly managed and administered by the Government of Assam. The college was set up in 1977, under the scheme of North Eastern Council (NEC) and it is affiliated to Gauhati University. The college is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC). Regional College of Nursing Guwahati currently conducts undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of Nursing - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc Nursing), a four-year course and Master of Science in Nursing (M.Sc), which is of two years’ duration. The college is well equipped with state-of-the-art facilities provided to its students within the campus.

For UG course, the candidates must have passed in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST), from any recognized Board.
Post Graduate:
For PG course, the aspirant must have done B.Sc Nursing, with minimum 55% of marks, from a recognized University. The person should also have one year of experience in the field.
Undergraduate:
For B.Sc Nursing, the candidates are selected on the merit basis determined by the marks obtained by them in the qualifying examination.
Post Graduate:
For M.Sc Nursing, the admission is based on the entrance test and merit conducted by the University.
