Rural Engineering College in Bhalki is a renowned institution for higher education in technical courses, in Karnataka. Also known as REC Bhalki, the college is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum. REC Bhalki came into existence in 1982 under the management of Shri. Bheemanna Khandre. Undergraduate:
The candidates need to have passed 10+2 level of examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, from any recognized Board.
Post Graduate:
MBA
Graduation in any stream with minimum 50% marks in aggregate is the eligibility criteria for candidates applying for MBA course.
MCA
The candidates should have done graduation in any stream and must have studied mathematics up to 10+2 level, to be eligible for this programme, with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
M Tech
Candidates should have successfully completed BE/B Tech degree from VTU or any other recognized University or any other exam recognized as equivalent, with minimum aggregate of 50% marks.

Admissions are conducted through written entrance test KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) or COMEDK (Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka) conducted every year by various test agencies.

Appearing for written entrance test PGCET of Karnataka or K-MAT or any National level test is compulsory for MBA and MCA courses.
