Located in Kolkata (West Bengal), NSHM College of Pharmaceutical Technology started its first academic session in 2005-2006. The college was formerly named as H C Garg Institute of Science & Technology. Approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, Ministry of HRD, Government of India, the college offers B. Pharma course of four years duration. H.C.G. Charitable Trust looks after the functioning and operations of NSHM College of Pharmaceutical Technology. The college is affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT), Kolkata. In order to provide career guidance to the budding professionals of the field of pharmacy, the college has separate training and placement cell.

The candidates should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in science stream with 50% aggregate marks in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology/Mathematics taken together. For admission under lateral entry scheme the candidates are required to score minimum of 60% aggregate marks in D. Pharma.
