National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur was established in 1962, as a Government College of Engineering and Technology. In 2005, the institute was declared as an Institution of National importance by the Central Government. By an Act of the Parliament, NIT Raipur was declared an autonomous institution, which is managed by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development (Dept. of Higher Education), Government of India, New Delhi. NIT Raipur conducts various streams of engineering at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate level. All these programmes of the institute are conducted according to the strict guidelines of the Government of India. NIT Raipur has state-of-the-art infrastructure to make sure all round development of its students within its 100 acres of campus.

Aspiring candidate should be a graduate in the field of science or engineering fulfilling the eligibility requirement as required by the respective disciplines.
MCA
Minimum Educational qualification required for admission to the MCA course is scoring minimum 60% marks (6.5/10 CGPA) in the examinations of class 12th, Graduation with Mathematics/ Statistics/ Business Mathematics as one of the subjects. There is a relaxation of 5% for SC/ST candidates.
Undergraduate:
Admission to the BE/BTech courses are granted to the eligible candidates on the basis of AIEEE scores. The admission procedure is conducted through by Central Counseling Board (CCB) constituted by Govt. of India, Ministry of HRD. Reservation of Seats is as per Govt. of India rules.

Admissions into the ME/MTech courses are done on the basis of performance in GATE.
MCA
For admissions into MCA course NIT MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET) is conducted is conducted every year.
