National School of Drama (NSD) is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. National School of Drama was set up in 1959. It is one of the foremost theatre training institutions in Asia and one-of-its-kind in India. NSD has two performing wings - The NSD Repertory Company, which does professional and experimental theatre in the country and abroad and the Theatre-in-Education Company, which is purely devoted to educate children and train them to perform plays in the country and abroad. The college offers all the basic amenities in its campus, to ensure that its students are groomed to become skilful theatre artists.

A candidate willing to get admission in NSD should be a Graduate in any subject from a recognized University. The candidate should be Proficient in Hindi and English. Active participation in at least 6 plays or in any other theatre related activity is an essential criteria. Age limitation is between 18 and 30 years.

Screening test is conducted for admission in PG Diploma course. The process gets completed in two steps - Audition or practical test of the candidates and 3-5 days workshop in the campus of NSD, New Delhi.
