National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is one of the premier institutes of design, management and technology in India. Located in New Delhi, it is an autonomous educational institution set up in 1986, under the aegis of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. In 2006, the college was given statutory status under the Act of Parliament of India. This has empowered the institution to award degrees and other academic distinctions. NIFT has professionally managed domestic centres at New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Raebareli, Bhopal, Kannur, Patna and Shillong.

B.Des. (Fashion Design / Leather Design / Accessory Design / Textile Design / Knitwear Design / Fashion Communication)
The candidates should have cleared +2 examination in the 10+ pattern of examination, from a recognized central or state Board of Secondary Examination.
OR
The candidates should have passed General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level
OR
Those who have passed any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in Foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system, are also eligible to apply.
OR
The candidate should have secured a pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.
OR
The candidate should have done 3 or 4-years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.
B.FTech (Apparel Production)
The candidates should have cleared +2 examination in the 10+ pattern of examination, from a recognized central or state Board of Secondary Examination, with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. OR
Those who have cleared General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the advanced (A) level with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are also eligible to apply.
OR
Those who have cleared any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system are also eligible to apply, provided they have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at the level.

Candidates should have passed 10+2, from a recognized Board.
Fashion & Clothing Technology (FCT): Candidates should have passed 10+2 from a recognized Board, with two years of experience in the related field.
Fashion Accessories & Handicraft Development
Candidates should have done graduation or 10+2, with two years of experience in the relevant field.
Fashion Integration & Marketing Application for Textiles (FIMAT)
Candidates should have done 10+2 from a recognized Board. However, those who have done graduation and are working professionals in the field of fashion textiles are given preference.
Textile Development for Fashion (TDF)
Candidates are required to pass 10+2 exam, from a recognized Board. However, professionals working in the relevant field are given first preference.
Fashion Communication & Promotion
Candidates should have done graduation in any discipline and should be proficient in reading and writing English language.
Fashion Retail Management (FRM)/Garment Export Merchandising Management (GEMM):
Candidates should have done graduation in the relevant field or 3 year Diploma from NIFT/NID. For GEMM, candidates with one year experience in the relevant field are given preference.
Clothing Production Technology (CPT)/ Computer Application in Fashion Industry (CAFI):
Candidates should have passed 10+2 from a recognized Board, compulsorily. Graduates in relevant field are also eligible to apply. To apply for Computer Application in Fashion Industry (CAFI), the candidates should have basic knowledge of computers.
Garment Production Technology & Apparel Design (GPTAD)
Candidates should be graduates in any discipline or should have done diploma in any stream. Working professionals are given preference.
6-Month Programmes
Design & Pattern Making for Ethnic Apparel
Candidate should have passed 10+2 from a recognized Board, with one year of experience in the related field.
Fashion Art & Illustration
Candidates with 10+2, from a recognized Board are eligible to apply, provided they have basic computer knowledge.
Industrial Pattern Making
Candidates with a pass in 10+2 or simply 10th pass are eligible to apply. In the second case, they should have two years of experience in the relevant field.
Pattern Making for Fashion Apparel/ Advance Pattern Making for Fashion Apparel/ Leather Goods Designing & Production Technology/ Fundamentals of Design Conceptualisation/ Fashion Photography
Candidates are required to have passed 10+2, from a recognized Board.
Computer Aided Designing for Footwear
Candidates who have passed 10+2 from a recognized Board or have passed 10th standard with Diploma are eligible to apply.
Fashion Jewellery & Technology
Candidates should have passed 10+2 from a recognized Board. Candidates having done 3 or 4-year diploma, recognized by AICTE/State Board or 10th exam with 3 years experience in jewellery industry are also eligible to apply.
Surface Design & Product Styling For Home Fashion
Candidates should have done 10+2, from a recognized Board. Preference will be given to graduates and working professionals in the field of fashion and textiles.
Creative Fashion Styling
Candidates who are graduates in any stream or diploma holders in any stream are eligible to apply. Those, who have just passed 10+2 from a recognized Board, with two years of work experience in the related field, are also eligible to apply.
Visual Merchandising
Candidates who have done graduation in any stream, or three-year diploma holders from NIFT/NID are eligible to apply.
Fashion Brand Management
Graduates in any discipline are eligible to apply, provided they are proficient in written as well as spoken English.
Home Fashion Retail
Candidates should be graduates in any stream, from a recognized Univesity.
Marketing & Merchandising of Fashion Products
Graduation in any stream or 10+2 with industry experience is sufficient, to be eligible for the programme.
4-Month Programme
Graduates in any discipline are eligible to apply, provided they have acquired the degree from a recognized University.

Computer Aided Textiles & Home Fashions
Candidates should be graduates in any discipline, from a recognized University, or they should have done 10+2 from a recognized Board, with industry experience.
Computer Aided Textile Design
Candidates should have done 10+2 from a recognized Board or Diploma in Textiles.
Fabric, Fashion & Retail
Candidates should have done graduation in any discipline, from a recognized Board.
Print Design for Home Fashion
Those who have passed 10+2 from a recognized Board are eligible to apply. However, preference is given to working professionals.
Fashion Journalism
Graduation or equivalent qualification in English/Journalism is must, to be eligible for the course. However, preference is given to working professionals.

The candidates should have done graduation in any discipline or 3 year Diploma from NIFT/NID.

Those who have done Design Diploma / Degree from NIFT / NID / International University of repute can also apply.
For the course, candidates having additional industry experience in the relevant fields would be preferred.
M.F.M. (Master of Fashion Management)
The candidates should have done A three-year Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities or Diploma in Accessory / Fashion Design / FIT from NIFT only. For foreign Bachelor’s Degree, not recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, the candidates are required to produce proper certification by a National Body constituted in the country concerned.
M.FTech (Master of Fashion Technology)
Candidates should have done B.E. / B.Tech. (Textiles / Apparel / Mechanical / Industrial / Production / Electronics / Computer / Information Technology)
For all above mentioned courses, candidates appearing for their qualifying examinations can also apply. However, their admission will be provisional and subject to obtaining the defined eligibility by 30th June, 2010.
