Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics, or N.M.College as it is fondly called, is a college of commerce and economics. It was set up in the year 1964 by a charitable trust known as Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal or SKVM. It is affiliated to the University of Mumbai. The college strives for excellence and motivates the students to participate in both curricular and extra curricular activities as well. Narsee Monjee, who laid down his life for the cause of indigenous cigarette factory, was the first Principal of the college.
For over 40 years, the college has changed the lives of over 30,000 students and has established itself as one of the most prestigious educational institutions in India. Every year, thousands of students compete to get admission in the college. There are various courses on offer for the students in Narsee Monjee College. Apart from the regular courses, N.M. College also offers many vocational courses for its students. These courses are of two-year duration and are more practical than theoretical. These courses are also recognized by the University of Mumbai.

Candidates who wish to pursue course that leads to Bachelor of Commerce should have passed 10+2 examination conducted by the different Divisional Boards of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, with English, any one of the Modern Indian Language or Modern Foreign Language or any Classical Language, any three from Economics , Book Keeping and Accountancy, Organisation of Commerce, Geography, Mathematics and Statistics, Secretarial Practice, Co-operation, and any one optional subject of 100 marks.
Or
The candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std. XII) examination with vocational subjects conducted by the different Divisional Boards of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. In this case, he/she should have done English, any one vocational subject carrying 200 marks prescribed for the Higher Secondary Certificate (Std. XII) examination from time to time, any three subjects carrying 100 marks each from among the subjects under the faculty of Commerce.
OR
Must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std. XII) examination conducted by the different Divisional Boards of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education from Arts or Science Stream, with English, any one of the Modern Indian Language or Modern Foreign Language or any Classical Language, any one subjects form among the subjects Economics, Mathematics and Statistics, Geography, Psychology, Geology, any three subjects carrying 100 marks each from the Arts or Science faculty.
OR
The candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std. XII) examination conducted by the different Divisional Boards of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education from Arts and Science Stream with English, any one vocational subject carrying 200 marks, any one subject from among Economics, Mathematics and Statistics, Geography, Psychology, Geology, any two subjects carrying 100 marks each from the Arts or Science faculty.
OR
The candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std. XII) examination with the minimum competency based vocational courses conducted by the different Divisional Boards of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education with the subjects English, any one of the Modern Indian Language or Modern Foreign Language or Classical Language, General Foundation Course, any one subject carrying 300 marks from among the minimum competency based vocational courses prescribed by the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std. XII) examination from time to time.
OR
The candidate must have passed an examination of another University or Body recognized as equivalent thereto.
BMS
To be eligible for B.M.S. Degree Course, the candidate should have passed XIIth Std. Examination of the Maharashtra Board of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination
OR
Diploma in any Engineering branches with two years or three years or four years duration after S.S.C. conducted by the Board of Technical Education, Maharashtra State or its equivalent examination, is must to be eligible for the program.

Admissions to the Degree Courses at the N.M.College are solely based on the performance of the candidate at the 10+2 level of CBSE or equivalent. The admission to the Bachelor of Management Studies is based on an entrance examination.
