Candidates must have passed their Higher Secondary or equivalent examination in science stream, from a recognized university.
Applicants must be a BSc degree or diploma holder in Engineering/Technology for the lateral entry into the II Year in the B Tech program.

Admission is done through West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WB JEE) for the 80% of the seats and All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) for the 10% of the seats. Rest of the 10% seats is filled through Management quota declared rank from AIEEE/JEE by CSC & regulated by Government terms.
Enrolment is given through West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination for lateral entry (JELET) into the II Year (Third Semester) of B Tech courses through Central Counseling by CSC (E&T) for the 10% of seats available in each stream.
