Located in Chanakya puri (Delhi),Maitreyi College offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Arts, science, commerce and humanities. The college is the first in Delhi University to start a course in nanotechnology. Established in 1967, the college also offers short term and add-on courses as well, in journalism and web designing. The college has been rated among the ten top science colleges functioning under University of Delhi, which is also called DU. Maitreyi College, spread over 10 acres of land, offers excellent infrastructure.
Maitreyi College is named after the wife of a great sage Yajnavalakya, who figured in the Upanishads. The college is also credited for being the first in Delhi University to initiate e-learning methodology. The college has also been conferred with star college grant. Over the years, the college has carved a niche for itself by imparting quality education.

Candidates should have passed the 10+2 or senior secondary exam from Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or any other Board, recognized by the Delhi University. The candidates should have passed 4 subjects (one language and three electives). Candidates with general certificate of education examination of U.K are also eligible.

Candidates need to pass B.A exam from a recognized University and should have studied Hindi at matriculation level. For students who have not studied any MIL (Modern Indian Language) at the SSC level need to appear for a Hindi test conducted by Delhi University. Those who have studied Hindi at 8th standard and foreign students are exempted from this test.
M.A (Mathematics)
Candidates should have pursued mathematics at the graduate level.
