Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences is situated in Sevagram in Wardha district, Maharashtra. The medical college was established in 1969 and at that time it was affiliated to Nagpur University. In 1998, MGIMS Wardha gained its affiliation from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nasik. The 648-bedded Kasturba Hospital is attached to Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences.
Both the medical college and the hospital are managed and run by Kasturba Health Society. Currently, the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences runs undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the field of medical sciences. With a view to produce skilful doctors, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Science offers state-of-the-art facilities.

Admission for this course depends upon the merit list prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates, in Competitive Entrance Examination.
