The candidate must have passed intermediate examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with 50% aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST), from a recognized Board. In addition, the candidate should have passed English as an elective subject. Candidates should be medically fit. The age of the candidate must be between 17 and 25 years, on the 31st December of the year of admission.

The admission is based on marks obtained in Common Entrance Test (CET), conducted in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry (including Organic Chemistry) and Biology, consisting of one written paper, which is of objective type in each subject. The medium of exam is English. Exemption is there from CET for NRI candidates, who have qualified CET-NRI and Government nominees.
